The celebration of the Mandaue Business Month was over. One of the main highlights of the one month event was the Cebu Blog Contest. And with the main objective: To let a hundred Cebu Blogs bloom. As a noob blogger, such contest interests me. And besides one of the mechanics is to create a new blog which will have a PageRank of 0 in Google, and 0 authority as according to Blog Authority, Technorati.

And with that contest wow-cebuph was born. I started blogging about our very own land: Cebu! It aims to promote Cebu to the world, with it’s hidden beauties.

After the conclusion of the Mandaue Business Month 2008 and in relation to Cebu Blog Contest, my blog won 2nd prize.

For those who support wow-cebuph blog, “thanks a lot”. Though the contest has ended, I will still continue promoting Cebu through my wow-cebuph blog.

Today, while at work, i was browsing over the net with miscellaneous stuffs and suddenly bump into an article about google chrome. Got curious and able to find out that “Google Chrome (BETA) for Windows” was a launched yesterday .

it’s been a while since i cried a lot after our final break up.. i know u knew it that i cried… i don’t know if you still find it over acting… but you knew what happened on that day… that was an unforgetable moment.. the very first time i cried because of a woman.. a woman that i loved and ever dream of.. every now and then, involuntarily my mind becomes uncouncious and like a lightning that flashes in front of my two eyes, memories that we shared brought back on my mind.. i can’t help it, i can’t even control it.. i can’t imagine our promises were too ephemeral.. where are all the feelings go? why it fades away? why you wanted me to stay, but not more than a friend? why things are quiet ironic now… simple yet complicated.. more complicated on my part.. a risk that i need to take.. “why” is the only word i could ever think of.. i am still puzzled with the things that are happening with us… between you and me…

SEASONS GREETINGS!

Yes ber is here! - the last 4 months of the year… what i might expect for this season?  well, i don’t know yet, but maybe i should start thinking what I want this Christmas? This season really is one of my most favorite time of the year..i mean it.. i always love seeing the street, houses, trees and everything decorated with christmas lights, lanterns and some other stuffs..  evereversince i was a kid, i always dreaming of spending christmas somewhere in a snowland. and of course with my family… i wanna experience building a snowman… do some snow skating… and everything.. i wanna see a real and live christmas trees with snows on it.. (whaaaaa - i’m day dreaming… lol) 

well i hope and pray that everything would be at it’s best this season!

Mandaue Chamber of Commerce launches the 1st MBM LAN PARTY today. The 24 hour event (Aug. 23 8am up until Aug. 24 8am) officially opened at exactly 10 a.m this morning. Ten persons per minute were allowed to enter the arena. But prior to that, since it was announced that the event will start at 8am, hundreds of gamers were waiting outside for about 2 hours. In fact, there was a minor raffle draw held, as an apology for it took a while for the event to start. The prizes were 5 LAN Party T-shirt and 5 HP ball pen.

It’s been a while since I haven’t drop by at Wordpress Pinoy Site. I know I missed a lot of things in the community, but still trying to cope up. (lol)

I was actually making replies to some topics there, when I incidentally clicked on annie_thejourney’s blog. I was then having fun reading her posts, when a certain post caught my interest “THE JOURNEY’s First Year Anniversary Promo“

Needless to say, I dug everything about the promo and got interested in joining. I think it’s not yet too late to join the promo since the deadline of submission is on Aug 21, 2008 - Thursday at 5:00pm (Pacific Time)

I was making some updates with my blog last night and able to noticed an alert in my dashboard. Opps.. it’s about “WordPress 2.6.1”

WordPress 2.6.1 is available! Please update now.

As an overview of the new version (got the infos below from wordpress blog):

2.6.1 offers several improvements for international users. Styling of the admin for right-to-left languages is much improved thanks to the efforts of the Farsi and Hebrew translation teams, and a mysterious gettext bug caused by certain PHP configurations is now fixed. For IIS users, 2.6.1 fixes several permalink problems. Image insertion problems in the Press This feature experienced by IE users are also fixed. Of note to everyone is a fix for a performance bug in the admin where those with a lot of plugins would experience slowness on some pages.

Last Sunday, August 10,  the Cebu Bloggers Society members met for the 3rd time at the same venue. It was indeed a successful met up. As noticed, there was an increase of attendance. The main objective of the met up btw, was meeting the 3 travel bloggers from manila. The following were:

Most of the people really believed that such date - August 08, 2008 abbreviated as [ 08.08.08 ] is a lucky day for everyone. In Chinese culture, 8 is an extremely lucky number. (i believed so, since my date of birth has 8 as well 03.08.87)

Moreover, one of the most common event on this day is the: BIG DATE - Wedding. Couple believed that it’s a lucky wedding date. In fact, churches in the country today and around the world are fully booked for weddings. Hotels and some other reception areas for weddings are fully booked as well.

Another significant event is the opening of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games also known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

However, according to some feng sui experts (as what i have watched a while ago in TV Patrol ), 08.08.08 is not really a lucky date.  An irony to what most people believed.

A former teammate who is now living/working in Davao (her home place), gave me this cup of award. Just an overview about our friendship, or I may say how our friendship started, it goes like this…

We we’re batchmates when we applied for work as a technical support reps (we back January 2007). From the examination > HR interview > Technical interview and ’till we we’re hired. But then, destiny (i believed) sent her back to her home land - Davao. I consider her as well as my older sister and used to call here ate, for she is older than me (correct me if im wrong, 3 years gap). I was 19 at that time and she was 23 when we applied and start working here.

And yeah i forgot to introduced her. she is Raquel. Code name: “rsolera”.
