Flashback: The next chapter begins

Who knows, life will lead me to the promising industry of the country today? and who expect i could be one of those folks who say: “thank you for calling… how may I help you? ” Well, expect the unexpected.

It was just a mere accident (as I could say) while walking along the street of I.T park, with no where to go, when a former school mate of mine, called me and telling me that she was already a technical support representative. “wow that’s great” - i said to my self. At that time, I was still connected with my previous employer, but I was really planning to have a career advancement. Well, with out a doubt, I gave my resume to her, then on the next day someone gave me a ring (surprised!) the HR called me and scheduled me for an exam on the next day. I decided not to went to work on the next day and took the chance. I arrived 9am in there, I asked the person next to me if we were asked to bring a copy of our resume, then she said yes. Since it was still 9am, I decided to went down and print a copy of my resume, it took 30mins for me in the cafe to make the resume again. After it, I went up in a hurry and it was still 9:45 when I got inside the office. I asked the guard where the other applicants. I was a bit upset at that moment when he told me that the exam had already started. I was frustrated at the same time as well. I asked the HR to allow me to take the examination, luckily he rescheduled me for another exam by Friday.

Then the day came, I went early. We were 7 at that time who took the exam, only 5 passed. And in the afternoon I was scheduled for final and technical interview. I was the last applicant who was interviewed. I was a bit nervous, until the 2 interviews were done. After that. the HR called me then, he was telling me that I pass the interview. On my surprise, my expression was - “wwwhhhooaaawwwhhhh” , then he told me to come back by the next Friday - for the contract signing.

I was in the middle of confusion at the time whether leave my employer - who waited for about 3 months to vacant the position for me. Or grab the opportunity. I kept on asking advices from my parents as well as folks, but I know I was the one who could decide in the end.

It was Friday then, I came to sign the contract - with a big smile and excitement. That whole night, I was sleepless, still thinking about the decision I made. Thinking what could be a good reason to tell to my employer to my supervisors. On the next day, Saturday I texted my supervisor, telling her that I need to look for a greener Pasteur. She asked why, I explained to her everything. and yet she understood. Before I left my current employer I gave my resignation letter to the HR , CC to the manager.

I arrived at the floor of my new employer, 9.59am a minute before my training started. And in that day January 29, 2007 my next chapter began at 1&1 Internet (Philippines), Inc.
