MANILA  All is quiet around the premises of the Professional Regulation Commission as officials are quarantined at the third floor of the PRC building.
Bulletin boards are clear of postings except for the old list of locations where applicants can take their nursing licensure board exams.
Guards are posted in entrances and deny entry to anyone. When asked if media can enter, the guards said not even they are allowed to go upstairs.
“It’s strictly quarantined,†one guard said in Filipino.
But in the coming hours tens of thousands anxious would-be nurses will flood the PRC building and even the commission’s official website to await for the results of the exam.
Thousands of them will find work abroad while some will work for local medical institutions.
Statistics until 2007 from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration showed that between 8,000 and 13,000 nurses work abroad each year since 2000.

Future Colleagues ngayong Fri na daw lalabas ang exam. Sana makapasa ako at ang iba pa na nag exam. Nakakanerbiyos..

OO nga pala, was anybody informed of how the BON makes the exam? Kasi yung palitan ng serial number,pwede. Yung bayaran sa loob,pilipinas pa? Pero leakage medyo in doubt ako kahit pa tatlo sa board members ang mag share ng sources nila. Hmmm lets see, 7 board members 500 (lahat sila may NP1-5 ha) questions each so 3500 questions (500 questions each categorized into NP1-5 following the Nursing Core Competency Scheme) Let’s say NP1= 500 questions, the 100 questions na lalabas for NP1 will be randomly selected via computer as presided by the pertinent authorities (parang DTI sa mga raffle) on a holding quarters with no communication at wala ding uwian until ma print lahat ng materials, take note binabantayan din ng pulis. That also goes for the rest of the NP exams (I really dont know yung about sa SET A and SET B. If ever they’re doing the process twice to give way for both SETs. Mas maganda kasi halung-halo ang mga questions, just imagine). Kung equal ang distribution for each board member there would be 15 questions/ 100 item questionnaire (kung 3 board member, that is roughly 45/100 questions, kung swerte sila sa bunutan). As ive said the questions are picked in random. Maaring 100 questions per NP galing sa kanila or non-at-all. Swerte lang nila kung kung lumabas yung mga inaantay nila. Significant lang ang arguement IF SO they did leak the questions that they made. Following the leakage last 2006, I think they wont go on the trouble of being interrogated by the authorities YET AGAIN. You may never believe me but i still do believe in the integrity of BON. Well if they dont do the standard, then the profession follows no standard at all. And that’s sad. Di na tayo ang may problema, its the system, which i pray not…
Aside for praying na pumasa tayo, pray din kayo na maayos ang release at walang PROBLEMA. If ever damay naman lahat diba.

talk about integrity…. if that holds true, we should really worry… Anyways, i always believe with the one greater than us. God bless the people who took the exam in whole honesty and effort. And for those who don’t, karma is just around the corner. Best efforts were given, sometimes even beyond that… All we can do now is hope for the best.
Anyways for the release…
Last saturday i was able to talk to someone who works for the office of the president in malacanang as a staff. Concerned about me worrying over the result the board exams, practically told me of something i really wanted to know about.
she said that a co-worker told her(whose friend works for the PRC), people from prc( to considering prc officials and bon i think) is being held in a safe house for ten days (which was day 4 last saturday) probably finalizing what would become the release of the results.
doing the math if Feb 7 was day 4, then day 10 would be Feb 13. So the release would be around Feb 13-14, seriously. Practically makes sense to me since last dec 07 NLE was released around Feb 21
I really don’t know if this holds true but, Knowing the person who shared me the info proves to be trustworthy without the shadow of a doubt. I wouldn’t hurt to check the sites (PRC and BONPHILIPPINES) up to the wee hours in the morning (as i always do since last week of JAN)
True or not, the release is inevitable. I was just hoping to cut the ‘worrying phase’ to a minimal. There’s just too much agony with the wait. I hope this could of help as I share the same anxiety with you guys

sana PO walang DAYAAN ang mangyari kasi may sabi sabi na nagkakapalitan daw ng grades sa pag record ng grades sa nursing.. may BAYARAN daw kasi nangyayari sa loob ng PRC para mapalitan ng GRADES. yung iba kasi kinabisado ang SERIAL NUMBER. tapos papabago nila sa binayaran nila sa loob ng PRC. and may nag sabi kasi na estudyante na nagtake hinihingan sya ng pera para maipabago ang grades.
sayang naman yung lumaban ng parehas. sana po tulungan nyo kami dahil baka ang grades namin ang mapalitan nito. ayos po sa nursing law 9173 pwede daw magparecheck na papers sa nursing pero hindi nila ito pinapatupad kaya natatakot kami.
at meron parin po talagang leakage na kumakalat until now, kahit last december 2006 meron parin po. yung dean ng lyceum LEONOR REYES may ari po sya ng eastwest review center, TATLO PONG BOARD OF NURSING MEMBER ang kaibigan nya at ayung tatlo po ay lecturer nya DATI sa review center nya. KAYA PO ang LYCEUM students sa intramuros eh palaging mataas or perfect ang RATING kasi po nagbibigay yung former lecturer nya ng tips kung saan sila kukuha ng questions na BOOK, at ayun ang ipapaaral nila sa lyceum students gaya ng nangyari nung decmber 2006.
ganito po yan, sasabihin ng tatlong BON kay leonora reyes (dean ng lyceum, at mayari ng eastwest review center) kung saan silang book kukuha ng tanong na para sa board exams.. sa merge din po meron leakage. at maging sa ibat ibat review center. magaling magtago ang eastwest ng leakage, hindi nila binibigay sa mga june takers ang leakage nila. december lang. pero kung magiimbestiga kayo sa mga lyceum GRADUATE totoo merong leakage as in!
mukhang mahirap masolusyunan ang mga ganitong LEAKAGE, kasi may mga kamag anak lahat yan at mga kaibigan sila ng mga may ari ng review center at dean. tulad ng LYCEUM.
para po maniwala subukan po ninyo alamin kung yung tatlong BON ngayon ay naging lecturer ng eastwest review center sa recto.
SINA PERLA PO at yung dalawa ay hindi ko kilala. at si LEONORA REYES po ay madaming kapit sa BON.
sana lang maging STYLE NCLEX nalang ang LOCAL board COMPUTERIZED para walang dayaan at mas competent ang mga nurse!
SANA BIGYAN ninyo ITO NG PANSIN. UNFAIR UNFAIR UNFAIR naman po kasi sa mga nagaaral at walang pang review center!

Kung nagdasal kayo at gnwa ang lhat pra mkapasa s board…wlang rason pra mwalan k ng pagasa…anung silbi ng dasal kung walang pananampalataya…tama ang mga sinabi nyo,mas mahirap ang board ng nov2008 compared s mga past board exams…pero dhil ngdasal ako,ngreview at ngsikap…i hav faith n pasado ako kaya kayong nagsipagdasal…gnun din sbihin u s srili nyo…pasado kayo…maniwala sa dasal…

Di q mdescribe, my mga questi0ns n mdali pero mas mrami pa rin ang mhirap.. Excited n ako pero kinakabahan talaga kasi mhrap tlga c0mpared to other pasT NLEs, parang ibA n ung mga tanung.. At ito pa ngka LBM pa aq nung test 2 hnggang test 3. Di ko n nabasa maigi mga tan0ng lagot tlga ako., pero im h0ping and stil praying n kahit ganun sna pasado pa rin.. G0dbless s ating lahat.

I was one of the examinees last November NLE 2008. Much I wanted that many of us would pass the said exam, my experience told me another thing. Based on our practice exams during the reviews, we used the questions of the previous board exams and they were a bit easier compared to the last NLE. I myself, I could not say for sure that I would pass it, but I’ll remain hopeful. I really don’t believe that we’ll have a 50 or more passing percentage; unfortunately, it’d be more believable if there’d be less than 30 passing percentage for November NLE 2008. It really hurts to say that because I may be one of not so fortunate, but this is just an objective observation based on personal experience. Anyhow, let’s just hope and pray. God bless all!
