Beyond the Norms

Just recently, I joined this online organization/forum and noticed that it really is interesting. You might be wondering why it is called Lopez Link Online. For the benefit of the doubt, let me give you a brief introduction about who and what they are.

Lopez Link is published monthly by Benpres Group Public Relations for the 16,000-strong workforce of the Lopez Group of Companies.

The Lopez Group is one of the largest and most diverse organizations in the Philippines. It has investments in six publicly listed corporations including those in broadcasting, power generation and power distribution. The Lopez Group has over 50 companies totaling more than 14,000 employees.

Now I guess you have the idea why it is called Lopez Link Online. So much for that, let us dig further about this online organization. What basically are the interesting facts inside? These are just among the few things you could find inside the site:

• LopezLink 2009 Year End Report – A quick review of some of the Group’s activities and achievements in 2009 from January to the current month.

• Knowledge Channel and Department of Education renew basic education tools development partnership – A memorandum of agreement to renew their 10-year partnership for the nationwide development of basic education tools through the Knowledge Channel.

• Participate in their forum, ask questions and give replies to some threads you are interested in. Just like what I did, I posted a question at the Sports section: “Golf : a sport or not?“

Other than that, let me also share to you this video entitled “Mi Isla”. It talks about going back to the home where you belong.   Preserving mother nature at the same time saving the world in a way or another.
