The Cebu Bloggers Society had a meet up last Saturday at Figaro-Ayala Terraces. And yes, there were new faces during the recent meet up.

The team talked about the concerns in the society as a whole. Among the concerns discussed  were:

1. - Approving newly registered CBS members. (details will follow)
2. - Migration of Yahoo Groups to the official site on or before Dec. 31.
3. -Spamming.
4. -Events

• Defcon PH Bloggers conference with semprix (the founder) which was moved to Dec 14.

• Defcon Beer Talk soft launching of Defcon.

• Sinulog new media partnership. (details will follow)

• Christmas gathering (sort of a small party. Getting together with the rest of the Cebu Bloggers)

P.S: Subject for changes and will be updating this later. Moreover, I need the names and the blog(s) of the bloggers who attended the meet up, especially the new faces. (i only recognize few, my apology).

FYI: Enovlink Press Briefing happened last Saturday, Nov. 8 2008. This post was delayed for some reasons.

It was late in the evening when I checked my email and had lots of notifications and updates from Cebu Bloggers Society Yahoo groups. Though I was that sleepy, but since it’s weekend, and besides I hadn’t been able to check my emails quiet sometime, so I decided to read everything in my mailbox. I mean it, it was really tiring, reading about 300 messages. But what’s worth reading was the new email from X, sent to the CBS group. It was actually about a press briefing for ENOVLINK. With out any idea of what that organization was, my interest of going to the event was there.

It was already 3am in the morning Saturday when I went to sleep. By 7am, I was awake then, and when I checked my mailbox, I found another email from X about the Enovlink Press Briefing event, leaving a contact number of Miss Jing. Since I was interesed, I texted Ms. Jing, asking her some clarifications of the event. The weather wasn’t too good on that day, it was raining cats and dogs. Since no blogger had confirmed to joined the Enovlink event, I decided to attend. I informed Ms. Jing before hand that I might be late and the respond was so kind, telling me that they’ll wait for me.

10.30 when I arrived at the venue - I was introduced by Ms. Jing to the PRESS from Superbalita, Sunstar and The Freeman. We had a little discussion about BPO by Dr. Mendoza.

Around 11am, the formal briefing started. All the Executive Staffs of Enovlink were there and Mr. Mike Murphy was there as well. Below is a brief profile about Enovlink Training Center.

The event was really nice and cool! Thank you Enovlink for inviting!

Her very inspiring answer to the final question ( what she would tell US president-elect Barack Obama about the state of the global environment if ever they were to meet ), which I believe made her to the top beating the 3 other finalist .

“She would encourage Obama to implement environmental knowledge in the curriculum of schools not just in the US, but also in the Philippines.”

She also added:

“Environmental knowledge is something that all of us must share, but most importantly we must teach the youth that this is something that we should instill in them so that in the near future they will be the ones to take care of our mother Earth”

Moreover, Ms. Henry also won the Miss Earth Designers Award and Miss Photogenic special award.

Followng her is Miss Earth Air (1st runner-up) Miriam Odemba of Tanzania; Miss Earth Water (2nd runner-up) Abigail Elizalde of Mexico, and Miss Earth Fire (3rd runner-up) Tatiane Alves of Brazil.

And yet Obama did it! Hurray to Obama’s Fans…

Last night was the Digital Filipino Club and Bloggers Cebu Networking Event, held at Teatro Casino, Waterfron Cebu. And as a part of our little community - Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) : we were invited as well to attend the event.

And thanks to PAGCOR for sponsoring the event. As a recap, the event started with a registration and dinner followed by a guest introduction / plugs, updates by Ms. Janette Toral, a short talk by Kevin of http://marroxas2010.wordpress.com (one of the CBS leader ) and Winston of BatangYagit.com (Davao Blogger, who united the CBS), then a talk by one of the PAGCOR representatives, raffle, networking, games and of course with the band playing on stage.

Samsung Philippines, celebrated the Samsung Fun Club Day yesterday from 10am to 8.30pm here at SM City-Entertainment Center-Cebu. After which it was followed by a concert with the band Parokya ni Edgar.

Prior to the concert, we-the Cebu Bloggers Society members, had some chitchats with Ms. Hazel. She also gave us freebies - the Samsung Fun Club jacket, and the Samsung Kit. By 6pm, we excused ourselved from the entertainment area to ate our dinner. We headed to CnT Lechon Restaurant, fronting SM City. Ms. Hazel treated us on behalf of Samsung Philippines. (that was really delicious..**Burps***). After dinner, we went back at the entertainment area, waited for some other bloggers.

8pm, we went outside the entertainment center and headed to the concert area. Before the concert started, there were some awardings, giving some phones to the winners of the face of the day and the couple of the day, and they gave phone as well to the lucky participants.

9pm, the concert started! There you go! the Parokya ni Edgar, with their introductory song, “Boloy”; Bad enough, I had my duty at 10pm so I ended up saying goodbyes to folks. It’s kinda frustrating though since I really wanted to watch the concert and jam around with the people there.

Cebu Bloggers Society official logo | t-shirt design

The Cebu Bloggers Society met again at Figaro, I.T Park. The main objective of the met up is basically to finalize the t-shirt design and to be able to produced it before October 23 .

After several chitchats, we ate at Mc’Donalds, I.T Park, courtesy of McBilly (the celebrity cebu blogger) and Winston (the blogger’s choice awardee). (thanks bro ).
